We'll start with pizza, then discuss.

Let's support the RPC Mission Trip 2009! How about a hoagie lunch - Hoagie coupons from WAWA support the Mission Trip - after services on Sunday, January 18th 2009, then a trip to the Philadelphia Art Museum (low or no cost) to discuss and learn about "Christianity thru Art - The Symbolism of the Christian Faith in Artistic Works through the Centuries" After that short guided tour - we can peruse the other areas of the museum on our own.

Ideas for February-
Let's support the RPC Mission Trip 2009! How about a hoagie lunch (We like hoagies! ) - Hoagie coupons from WAWA support the Mission Trip - after services on Sunday, February 8th 2009 a trip to the Valley Forge RV Show . Why the RV show? Well, it is something Amy and I enjoy, and we like to share.. See and sit in "rigs" or all shapes, styles, and sizes...from a $1000 dollars to a million! Kind of like the car show, only some of the cars have big screen TVs,. couches, kitchens and beds! Who knows, one day - you may like this lifestyle. (We do!) Cost for the RV Show is $7 (coupon ) at the door. If you want a ride there - let us know.
Another way to support the RPC Mission Trip? Enjoy our Annual Agape Feast, Saturday evening, February 21st. 2009. A wonderful dinner, and a enjoyable music revue! We've seen The Blues Brothers, The Beatles, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Sonny and Cher... Whose Next? Come and find out! The "Mission Trippers" will be selling tickets - so see them, or contact the Granato Family for information.

We'd love to hear how you are doing, the good and the bad, the triumphs or tragedies ...just send us a note!

Grace to you all,

Amy & Mike K.

Awesome Time in Lancaster!

Though our numbers were few, we had a great time in Lancaster, Shopping, discovering facts about how Christmas is celebrated around the world, and enjoying some amazing food at Shady Maple.

The Weather was much colder and a bit more snowy and windy than we expected!
Once we got to the Rockvale Outlet, we parked by the playground, and started setting up for coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. We did some shopping, while the little ones played in the snowy playground, and watched some Veggie Tales.
Around 12:30p or so, we had lunch, served by Amy, of hotdogs, chili, and macaroni and cheese. dessert was homemade spice cake with cream cheese icing.
We did some more bargain hunting until about 2:30p, then headed to the National Christmas Center, in Paradise PA.
We enjoyed seeing scenes from Christmas Past, like a re-creation of an the original FW Woolworth Store.

Other fun things experienced were Scenes from Christmas Traditions from around the world, a Christmas village of anatromic animals with a storybook style, and a three-tiered train layout under the base of an imaginary tree.
After all the "commercial" aspects of Christmas, it was wonderful to see the collection of nativity sets from around the world, and a huge diorama depicting Jesus' birth.
Lastly, we were able to experience, even if onl a bit, what it would have been like for Mary and Joseph on their peril-filled Journey to Bethlehem. A wonderful start to the Christmas Season!
After our tour of the National Christmas Center, we made our way through the rolling Lancaster farmland to enjoy a wonderful meal at Shady Maple. Quite a full day of sharing fun together!

YAs Pizza Nite!

Last night we had a great time with the RPC YAs at Mike & Amy's home. If you were one of the ones that came out, thanks for sharing the evening with us! If you couldn't make it - you missed a nice night hanging out and discussing home finance and budgeting basics and just fun getting to know each other. There were plenty of Pizza, snacks and drinks to go around, and thanks to Kimmie B for bringing some awesome cream puffs! Even our "little ones" were able to have a time to socialize with each other. Was kind of cool that we just sat so long and chatted, we never got to watch the movie we planned!

HayRide Bonfire

The RPC YAs join with the Families of RPC for the annual HayRide and Bonfire last night. As we waited for the hayride to arrive, we had time to chat and toss a football for a bit. Then we hopped on, and had two packed wagons, over 40 people! After the Hayride, everyone enjoyed hotdogs, cider and S'mores, then gathered together to sing praise songs, led by Bob and Scott. Broc also shared his Telescope, letting everyone get a look at the wonders of the clear night sky. Fun was had by all!

YAs Dinner And What's Coming for October/November

Thanks to all who came out on Thursday Night the 18th. We had a great time just getting to know each other, and just throwing out some activity Ideas. All enjoyed a dinner of Salad, Meatballs and Spaghetti, and dessert cakes.
Our first Outing will be a joint outing with the rest of the RPC family to the Annual Hayride & Bonfire, Sunday, October 26th, held at a private portion of MerryMead Farm. Be at the HayRide site for 5:45p, but plan on arriving at the farm earlier, to enjoy the animals, homemade ice cream, and other goodies and activities. The cost of the HayRide and Bonfire is $8 per person, and includes HotDog, Apple Cider and S'mores to enjoy. After eating, we'll sing some praise songs fireside. A great night of Fellowship, and Hanging out!

In November, we'll have two outings.
On Friday, November 14th, Stop by Mike and Amy's for some pizza and a short discussion. Topic will be "Putting your Money to Work for You" and how we can make that work to God's Glory. Since this is a discussion - if you have an idea - be prepared to share some of your own money-saving tips! Start time is between 6:30 and 7pm. Afterward, for those that are able to, stay and enjoy a movie with us!

On Saturday, November 22nd, we'll be heading out to Lancaster. So far, our planned stops include - Going to Rockvale Outlets to do some Pre-Christmas Shopping. Lunch will be provided by Mike and Amy in RoadAbode on-site. Just stop by for a bite, or to rest your feet (or even a nap!). We'll even hold your bags - so you can shop more! =p After a few hours at Rockvale, we'll take in a tour of the National Christmas Center to get you into the spirit of the upcoming Holidays. After our tour, we'll head out to dinner at Shady Maple. A fun filled day - planned just for RPC YAs! Come and join the fun!

Though December is usually pretty busy, we are thinking about a late afternoon/evening trip on a Saturday to Longwood Gardens to see the Trees and Conservatory Holiday Lights and Decorations. Let us know what would work for you.

If you have any questions or comments about the above dates or outings, please email Amy and I at YA.at.RPC@gmail.com We also want you to know any time, if you want to talk about something, ask for an opinion, or want us to pray for you, we'd love to be able to do that for you.
